Keuangan syariah dan strategi disruptif
I wrote an article in Kontan business newspaper which was published in 01.12.2016. I described challenges facing the Islamic or sharia-compliance finance in Indonesia. The market share of sharia-compliance banking products in Indonesia remains modest at less than 5% after 25 years after they were first introduced at 1991. This slow penetration and diffusion of sharia-compliance products is somewhat puzzling considering most of Indonesian population are Muslims (around 87%). I offer a disruptive strategy to increase its penetration by focusing first on the specific segment which is concern with sharia-compliance and offering competitive cost compared to conventional financing instruments. In so doing, the other more mainstream segment might eventually be also interested in adopting the sharia-compliance products.
