Peluang motor listrik karya anak bangsa

I wrote an article about electric motorcycle made by Indonesian and its chance of success. It is now in prototype stage, an innovation and collaboration of Insititut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember, Surabaya and Garansindo, an Indonesian auto-company. Electric motorcycle is quite a new thing for Indonesian market. Electric vehicles are (still) perceived as impractical and expensive. Despite of the domination of Japan brand conventional motorcycles, I argue that there is still opportunity for indigenous electric motorcycle given that the producer avoid early head-to-head competition with established giants in mainstream market segment and instead try to find a niche, i.e., a consumer segment that possesses different preferences. Different preferences here are consumers characterized as green-enthusiasts and consumers who are eager to buy an indigenous products made in Indonesia. There is also experimental users, a group of people who are always curious for a new products.
